zhaji is a thousand-year-old ancient village in southern anhui, which still preserves more than 200 ancient buildings from the yuan, ming, and qing dynasties. in addition to residential houses, ancestral halls, and academies, it also boasts various ancient bridges and pavilions. in 2001, the zhaji ancient architectural complex was designated by the state council as the fifth batch of "national key cultural relics protection units," and it was awarded the titles of "chinese historical and cultural village" and "traditional chinese village" in 2008 and 2012, respectively. currently, in the midst of the hot summer, stepping into zhaji, even as evening approaches, one can still see easels set up everywhere, with sketching students capturing the summer charm of the ancient village. the once overlooked small mountain village now attracts over a hundred thousand students for sketching each year. currently, there are over 200 accommodation and dining services operating in zhaji, capable of hosting nearly 3000 teachers and students at the same time. the rise in sketching has also led to an increase in related businesses, including art supply stores, painting material rooms, cultural and creative shops, and even milk tea shops, cafes, and cinemas. the sketching economy has painted a new rural landscape and depicted the changing times of the countryside. currently, jingxian county is continuously exploring the cultural connotations of villages, using the construction of the "home of sketching" brand as a starting point, actively promoting the zhaji "sketching tourism" model, and creating sketching bases such as peach blossom pool, yunling, and xuan paper town. up to now, jingxian county has more than 30 sketching bases, with over 2,000 people directly engaged in service roles. according to the issued "opinions on developing the sketching economy," jingxian county will focus on the construction of sketching bases, improvement of sketching services, and marketing of sketching activities.
