since the 1960s, when anhui's first car rolled off the production line, to 2023, when the province's car production ranked second and exports first in the nation, anhui's automobile industry has been continuously "shifting gears and accelerating" on the path of high-quality development. driven by leading vehicle manufacturers such as chery and jac group, anhui's automobile industry is thriving. the province has successively issued guiding documents like "guidance on strengthening innovation and accelerating the construction of an internationally competitive new energy vehicle industry cluster," proposing a development strategy centered on integrating vehicle manufacturing, components, and aftermarket services into a "trinity." a number of major vehicle manufacturers, including nio and volkswagen, have established operations in anhui; key projects such as gotion high-tech and byd core components have been completed and put into operation. in the first seven months of this year, a total of 1,350 key automotive industry projects were scheduled on anhui's "attract investment and talent" platform, with a total investment of 738.33 billion yuan. from january to august this year, the province produced 2.1161 million vehicles in total, including 937,400 new energy vehicles, ranking second nationwide for both categories; with year-on-year increases of 44.84% and 81.59%, respectively. in the process of formulating its automotive industry strategy, anhui province has been scientific and insightful. it has leveraged its advantages in technological innovation and regional strengths, becoming a leading automotive powerhouse in various aspects.
