on august 5th, fortune china released the 2024 fortune global 500 list. chery holding group co., ltd., with an operating revenue of $39.0917 billion, made it onto the list, ranking 385th. this marks the first time an auto company from anhui has entered the fortune global 500. this year, the combined revenue of the companies on the fortune global 500 list is approximately $41 trillion, a 0.1% increase from the previous year. the threshold to enter the list (minimum operating revenue) is $32.1 billion. a total of 133 chinese companies made the list, with their combined revenue for 2023 reaching about $11 trillion. chery, which debuted on the list this year, is one of the representative enterprises of china's independent automotive brands. starting from a small "grass hut" 27 years ago, chery has grown step by step into a fortune global 500 company with 14.2 million global users, business operations in over 80 countries and regions, and the most internationalized chinese automotive brand. from 2021 to 2023, chery group's annual sales soared, achieving 962,000 units, 1.233 million units, and 1.881 million units respectively, nearly doubling in three years. chery has cumulatively exported 3.9 million vehicles, maintaining its position as the number one exporter of chinese brand passenger cars for 21 consecutive years. in 2023, one out of every three passenger cars exported from china was a chery. entering 2024, chery group accelerates its pace, with sales surpassing 1.1 million vehicles in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 48.4%, setting a new historical record. chery group is the only company in the entire industry to achieve "dual growth" in both new energy vehicles and fuel vehicles, as well as in domestic and overseas markets.
