in the first half of this year, anhui's total value of goods trade imports and exports reached 396.78 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.4%, setting a new historical high for the same period. 
at the wuhu port international container terminal in anhui, 615 anhui-manufactured cars are being loaded into containers, destined for countries like poland. this batch of cars is a microcosm of anhui's foreign trade driving force. in the first half of this year, anhui's exports of electric passenger vehicles, lithium batteries, and photovoltaic products—the "new trio"—amounted to 22.13 billion yuan. among these, exports of electric passenger vehicles reached 4.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 170%, achieving growth in both quantity and value. 
the automobile industry is anhui's primary industry focus. while the "new trio" showed strong growth, the "old trio" are accelerating their transformation towards high-end, intelligent, and green production, further optimizing the export structure. in the first half of the year, anhui's exports of mechanical and electrical products reached 188.11 billion yuan, an increase of 11.9%, accounting for 70% of the total export value. exports of automatic data processing equipment and parts reached 22.32 billion yuan, up 23.4%; exports of household appliances reached 18.27 billion yuan, up 14.9%. traditional industries are accelerating their transformation and upgrading, and export goods are climbing up the value chain. more and more "anhui-made" products are going global. in the first half of this year, anhui's exports of self-owned brand goods reached 143.01 billion yuan, accounting for half of the total export value, with the proportion increasing by 2.5 percentage points compared to 2023.
