on june 1st, reporters learned from the china railway shanghai group co., ltd. that starting from midnight on june 15th, the national railway system will implement the third quarter train operation schedule. for the first time, an attempt will be made to operate a high-speed train, g8388/9/8, in a large loop between shanghai and shanghai hongqiao, linking four major and sub-central cities of the yangtze river delta region including shanghai, nanjing, hefei, and hangzhou. the one-way journey covers more than 1200 kilometers, connecting several scenic areas such as mount huangshan, jiuhua mountain, and qiandao lake along the route. furthermore, the new schedule also includes the addition of passenger train lines into the wuhan-guangzhou section of the beijing-guangzhou high-speed railway, enhancing connectivity towards popular destinations like changsha and wuhan from cities such as hangzhou, nanjing, hefei, and lianyungang. this introduces new pairs of trains: g1442/3 and g1444/1 between hangzhouxi and changshanan, and g578/9 and g580/77 between wuhan and lianyungang, offering passengers more diverse travel options. in the new schedule, passengers from shanghai, hefei, huangshan, and other locations can take the original pair of trains, g3/g26, from beijingnan to shanghai, and g325/g324 from beijingnan to xiamenbei. these trains now start and end at beijing station, making it closer and more convenient for passengers to access the city center of beijing. after the implementation of the new schedule, a new pair of trains, k8521/k8522, between hefei and yeji will be introduced on mondays, wednesdays, thursdays, fridays, and sundays. this enhances the connection between hefei and lu'an, with yeji railway station welcoming up to six train stops daily. the railway transportation plays a significant role in promoting rural revitalization and economic development along the route. additionally, the new schedule includes minor adjustments to some of the high-speed train services along the shanghai-nanjing riverside line.
