(ecns) -- china's industrial added value exceeded 40 trillion yuan ($5.81 trillion) in 2022, accounting for 33.2 percent of gdp, jin zhuanglong, minister industry and information technology (miit) said at a press conference held wednesday. according to jin, china’s manufacturing added value accounted for 27.7 percent of gdp in 2022 and the scale of china's manufacturing industry has ranked first in the world for 13 consecutive years. in 2022, 65 chinese manufacturing enterprises were included in the list of the world's top 500 enterprises the country has cultivated more than 70,000 specialized and sophisticated small and medium-sized enterprises that produce new and unique products. china's high-tech and equipment manufacturing industries accounted for 15.5 percent and 31.8 percent of the value added of the industrial enterprises above designated size in 2022 respectively, said jin. in addition, the output of new energy vehicles and photovoltaics has remained the first in the world for many years. the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries have accelerated, the green digital transformation has achieved remarkable results, and 45 national advanced manufacturing clusters have been cultivated. by the end of 2022, more than 2.31 million 5g base stations have covered all prefecture-level cities and urban areas of all counties in china and the scale of computing capacity ranked the second in the world. jin said the country will ensure steady growth of the industrial economy in 2023 by implementing a package of measures to stabilize industries which account for a large proportion of gdp.
