the lei street, located in baohe district, hefei, anhui province, has appeared on the first list of 55 national tourism and leisure streets, according to an announcement released on january 10. currently, the fourth phase of lei street is still under construction. this newly-built project consists of 9 buildings and it covers an area of nearly 32,748.9 square meters with a total construction area of almost 117,058.7 square meters. the main buildings have been completed smoothly, since the construction started in june last year. and they are planned to be delivered around october this year and will open to the public in the middle of next year, according to a staff member from lei street culture tourism development co. the project adopts the concept of compound zoning to jointly integrate the functions of a shopping mall, offices, historical and cultural facilities and supporting service facilities. the phase four project will form open-plan shopping malls of block types via bringing in fashion retailers, restaurants and culture brands in the future. meanwhile, an international office park will be built to reshape hefei’s metropolitan core and become a model for the revival of the old city.
