on july 13th, the chinese sports delegation for the paris olympics was established, and seven athletes from anhui province were honorably selected. the paris olympics will take place from july 26th to august 11th. among the seven athletes from our province participating in the games, three are post-90s and four are post-00s. wang juan will compete in the women's freestyle wrestling 76kg category, tang junyao will compete in the women's individual and team épée events, wu xiangdong will run in the men's marathon, li yuting will compete in the women's 200m track event, niu chunge will take part in the women's pole vault, zhong tao will compete in the men's pole vault, and zhou yan will play in the women's rugby event. among them, li yuting is participating in the olympics for the second time, while the others are making their olympic debut; li yuting, wang juan, tang junyao, niu chunge, and zhou yan have previously competed in the hangzhou asian games and achieved excellent results. in addition to the official competition events, chuzhou girl du jijuan was also selected for the all-star lineup of the paris olympic beach handball exhibition. she is the only asian female beach handball player selected for this lineup. during the olympics, she will team up with athletes from other countries to show her style. the paris olympics will feature a total of 32 sports, 45 disciplines, and 329 events. the chinese sports delegation will participate in 30 sports, 42 disciplines, and 236 events, with the number of participating sports, disciplines, and events accounting for a higher proportion of the total olympic events than the previous games. despite the total number of events at the paris olympics being reduced by 10 compared to the tokyo olympics, the number of events participated in by the chinese sports delegation has increased by 11, making it the largest number of events participated in abroad at an olympics.
