on december 18th, the 3rd (2023) china university scientific and technological achievement fair opened at the anhui innovation pavilion located on the shore of chaohu lake. a total of 350 universities participated in this event, including 134 "double first-class" universities. several academicians and more than 50 university leaders were present at the opening ceremony, some of whom delivered excellent keynote speeches. it is reported that there are nearly 10,000 exhibitions, promotion, and trading projects at this event, making it the largest scale in history. the participating universities have brought their latest and most advanced scientific and technological achievements. in addition to setting up special exhibition areas such as "high-value patented achievements available for transformation by universities," "major innovation achievements from 'double first-class' universities," and "scientific research and experimental equipment" to showcase the achievements, this year's scientific and technological achievement fair will also hold nearly 20 important activities including the unveiling of major technological demands from enterprises, introduction of high-value patented technologies available for transformation by universities, project roadshows and on-site signings of university scientific achievements, a seminar on high-level university scientific and technological innovation for high-quality economic and social development, and the conference of technology transfer alliance for universities in the yangtze river delta. universities have always been the main force in basic research in china. in the past decade, 60% of the winners of the national science and technology three major awards were scientific research teams from universities. universities also undertake more than 80% of the projects funded by the national natural science foundation of china. in recent years, anhui's universities have shown remarkable performance in basic research and technological innovation: among the major scientific and technological innovation platforms approved and constructed in anhui, there is one national laboratory, five national key laboratories, and three large scientific devices that are led or participated in by universities. reporters also learned that the university scientific and technological achievements exhibited and promoted at this event are highly aligned with the top ten emerging industries in our province, and approximately 1,600 technology-based enterprises across the province are seeking potential collaboration during the conference. around 500 enterprises from the yangtze river delta region and other provinces and cities will also participate. anhui's innovative environment is very conducive to the implementation of these projects, and the successful transformation of scientific and technological achievements will in turn promote high-quality development in anhui.
