on june 12th, 2023, at the 7th rail transit forum (rt forum 2023), the cetc brainware terahertz information technology co., ltd. from hefei, anhui, unveiled their terasnap b04-m open-type terahertz(thz) security screening system for the first time. according to the r&d staff, the security screening system uses thz imaging technology to passively receive thz waves emitted by the human body for imaging, making it very safe for humans. the system adopts an open-type security inspection channel design and optimizes the multi-channel automatic calibration algorithm under complex background environments, greatly reducing the size and power consumption. during the security inspection, the person being inspected can pass through the channel at a normal walking speed without stopping, significantly improving the inspection experience, making it almost "seamless" to the passengers. 
the security screening system is safe and non-radiative, passively receiving thz waves emitted by the human body. it is contactless and does not require stopping or "patting down" during the process. compared with traditional security inspections, the speed is increased by three times. the system can detect a variety of items, including metals, liquids, colloids, powders, ceramics, etc. the entire process is visualized through video imaging, displaying the thz security inspection image of the human body. it is intelligent and information-based, automatically distinguishing between daily items and suspected prohibited items, only alarming for suspected prohibited items, solving the shortcomings and drawbacks of traditional security inspections, making security inspections more convenient, accurate, intelligent, and economical, and suitable for public places with large passenger flows and limited space.
