"thanks to multiple action plans implemented in recent years, anhui has successfully achieved its targets for air quality improvement, resulting in significantly reduced haze days and increased citizen satisfaction due to a cleaner environment," said wang binbin, director of the air environment department of the provincial ecology and environment department. he also emphasized anhui's efforts to eliminate all coal-fired boilers below 35 tons and all 400,000 "yellow-labeled" polluting vehicles since 2018. last year, anhui achieved its best air quality in history, with an average concentration of pm2.5 of 34.9 micrograms per cubic meter, and a proportion of days with good air quality at 81.8%, topping the provinces in the yangtze river delta. the annual average concentration of pm2.5 and the proportion of good air quality days both exceeded the targets set by the country.
