on october 13, the 2024 china·wanmei shanshui dragon boat race (hefei), co-hosted by the anhui provincial sports bureau and the hefei municipal people's government, and co sponsored by the hefei sports bureau and the xinzhan district administrative committee, officially launched. nearly 500 students from 18 representative teams of 16 universities in anhui participated in this exciting event. 
this race is another traditional dragon boat competition held in the xinzhan district, following the dragon boat festival races. the banks of shaoquan lake were packed with spectators, with nearly 10,000 cheering fans resonating with the rhythmic paddling sounds of the competitors on the water. 
notably, to ensure the smooth progress of the event, the organizers invited several professional rescue teams, including the hefei blue sky rescue team, to ensure safety during the race. 
after three rounds of competition, the dragon boat teams from the university of science and technology of china, anhui international studies university, anhui xinhua university, and hefei economic college emerged as finalists. ultimately, the university of science and technology of china dragon boat team claimed victory with a time of 2 minutes and 08 seconds.
