this year, anhui is focusing on railways and expressways to accelerate the construction of transportation infrastructure, driving steady and rapid growth in fixed asset investment across the province. at 9:00 am today, the g9298 train departed from ningguonan station, marking the official opening of the xuancheng to jixi high-speed railway. the main line of the xuancheng-jixi high-speed railway spans 115 kilometers with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, featuring three stations: xuancheng, ningguonan, and jixibei. this not only achieves the goal of connecting every county in xuancheng city via high-speed rail but also establishes a major high-speed rail loop in southern anhui. following the opening of the xuancheng-jixi high-speed railway, anhui province's total railway mileage has reached 5,737 kilometers, including 2,773 kilometers of high-speed rail, ranking among the top in the country. currently, there are 17 key railway projects under construction in the province, including the hefei to nanjing to shanghai route, with a new line length exceeding 1,200 kilometers and a total investment of about 260 billion yuan. this year, the province has planned to continue the construction of 15 expressway projects. in the first eight months of this year, anhui has completed a total of 102.4 billion yuan in transportation-related fixed asset investments, achieving 72.5% of the annual plan; this has driven a 10.6% year-on-year increase in provincial infrastructure investment, an improvement of 1.1 percentage points from the first seven months, contributing 50.6% to the overall investment growth.
