after three months of work, the first phase of the fourth large-scale excavation at the hualong cave site in dongzhi county, chizhou city has come to a close. this "ancient human homeland," dating back 300,000 years, is gradually revealing its mysterious veil. during this phase of excavation, archaeologists at the "hualong cave" site not only discovered a large number of human and animal bone fossils but also preliminarily uncovered the "entrance" to hualong cave. currently, researchers are further classifying and cleaning the fossils in preparation for the next stage of research. the hualong cave site holds significant importance for studying the evolutionary patterns of ancient humans in east asia, especially in china. currently, various conservation and utilization efforts surrounding the hualong cave site are being prepared. these include academic seminars on the hualong cave site, the launch of specialized academic journals, and the implementation of renovation and enhancement projects for the site's exhibition hall, which have been progressively initiated.
