on august 20, the highly anticipated domestic aaa game "black myth: wukong" officially launched, instantly igniting global player enthusiasm and becoming a hot topic. after the game's release, players were pleasantly surprised to discover that many of its locations are inspired by cultural heritage sites and natural landscapes from across the country, including elements from anhui. "black myth: wukong" is an action role-playing game set against the backdrop of chinese mythology. based on wu cheng'en's "journey to the west," the game tells the story that follows the original novel. players take on the role of a "destined one" who embarks on a perilous and wondrous journey to uncover the truths behind ancient legends. on the day of its launch, within about an hour, the number of concurrent players on steam surpassed 1 million, peaking at 1.44 million. following the launch, many streamers began live broadcasts on short video platforms, with some channels quickly attracting tens of thousands of viewers, and a few even exceeding 100,000.

tianzhu mountain in anhui, image from ah.gov.cn the game’s impressive representation of traditional chinese architecture and natural scenery has also become a major highlight. on august 20, the official short video account for anhui culture and tourism released a comparison between a game screenshot and a real image of tianzhushan. currently, two anhui elements have been identified in the game: the main peak of tianzhu mountain in qianshan city and baiyazhai on ziyun mountain in susong county. tianzhu mountain, located in qianshan county, anqing city, covers an area of 413.14 square kilometers and is named for its main peak, which resembles a "pillar supporting the sky." the main peak, tianzhufeng (tianzhu peak), rises 1,489.8 meters above sea level, standing majestically with its rugged stone formations. baiyazhai, located on baiya mountain in zhifeng township, susong county, gets its name from the mountain itself. established during the late yuan dynasty, baiyazhai's strategic position made it a contested site throughout history. as an ancient military fortress with a long history and grand scale, it is often referred to as the "little great wall of the south." despite nearly 700 years of weathering, baiyazhai remains largely intact. source: jianghuai morning post
