since the beginning of this year, anhui has been focusing on prudently and orderly advancing the "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" initiative. the province has continuously accelerated the optimization and adjustment of its energy structure, steadily expanded the installation scale of renewable energy power generation such as photovoltaics, wind power, and pumped-storage hydroelectricity. in the first half of the year, the province made effective progress in renewable energy power generation. to accelerate the establishment of a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient new energy system and promote the reduction and substitution of coal consumption, anhui has been expediting the construction of key projects such as the tongcheng and shitai pumped hydro storage power stations since the beginning of this year. at the same time, the installation scale of wind power, photovoltaics, and new energy storage continues to grow. in wuhu's wuwei city, a fishery-photovoltaic complementary power station built utilizing ditches, abandoned water bodies, and fish ponds has been connected to the grid for power generation. in just the first half of this year, its power generation exceeded 16 million kilowatt-hours. currently, the construction of the project's later phases is being accelerated, and once fully operational, its annual power generation capacity will exceed 130 million kilowatt-hours, capable of meeting the electricity needs of 44,000 households. in the first half of this year, the province's newly installed renewable energy power generation capacity reached 5.49 million kilowatts, ranking eighth nationwide and accounting for 78.1% of the province's new grid-connected power generation capacity. as of the end of june this year, the province's installed capacity for renewable energy power generation exceeded 53 million kilowatts, representing 46.6% of the total social power generation capacity, ranking first in the yangtze river delta region.
