on august 5th, fortune china released the 2024 fortune global 500 list. chery holding group co., ltd. was ranked at 385th on the list with a revenue of $39.0917 billion, marking the first time an anhui-based automotive company has entered the fortune global 500. chery is a leading and chain-leading enterprise in the automobile manufacturing industry, independently cultivated by wuhu city. in recent years, the strong performance of chery automobile has continuously enhanced wuhu's industrial level in building a world-renowned automobile city. wuhu city focuses on the primary automobile industry, accelerating industrial agglomeration. the vitality of the industry continues to burst forth, and the momentum of the industry accelerates its release. in the first half of this year, wuhu city sold 1.111 million vehicles, an increase of 47.6%, accounting for 53.9% of the provincial proportion. the revenue of the entire automotive industry exceeded 250 billion yuan, an increase of 44.2%, setting a new historical record. it is estimated that by 2027, the industrial scale will reach one trillion yuan, thereby carrying the "significant weight" of anhui's automotive industry landscape. in recent years, wuhu city has focused on the development of leading industries, forming a world-class automobile industry cluster with chery as the "chain leader". it has gathered more than 2000 upstream and downstream enterprises in the automotive and parts industry chain, forming a new economic ecosystem of the automotive industry that integrates whole vehicles, parts, and the aftermarket. currently, the city has 907 above-designated size enterprises in the automotive industry, including 11 whole vehicle enterprises, 677 parts enterprises, and 219 aftermarket enterprises. in the first half of this year, wuhu city's automotive industry has cumulatively signed, started construction on, and put into operation 225 projects, with a total investment of 99.211 billion yuan, ranking first and second in the province, respectively. among them, 107 projects were signed with a total investment of 45.635 billion yuan, both ranking first in the province. the number of above-designated size enterprises in the automotive industry increased from 814 last year to 907.
