the reporter learned from the press conference held by the information office of anhui provincial people's government on june 18 that the 2024 rcep local governments and friendship cities cooperation (huangshan) forum will be held from june 20 to 23 in huangshan city and hefei city. the forum is co-hosted by the chinese people's association for friendship with foreign countries and the anhui provincial people's government. 
it is understood that rcep, the regional comprehensive economic partnership, is a free trade agreement formulated by 15 member countries, including china, japan, south korea, australia, new zealand, and the ten asean countries. this agreement primarily addresses the development of economic globalization and regional economic integration, aiming to eliminate internal trade barriers, create and improve a free investment environment, and expand trade in services. it is currently the world's largest free trade agreement in terms of population covered and economic and trade scale. the forum will focus on the theme of "regional partnership for common development." the opening ceremony and keynote speeches will be held in tunxi district, huangshan city, on the morning of june 21. in the afternoon, there will be the conference on cultural, tourism, and education cooperation between friendship cities of rcep member countries titled "crossing mountains and seas, vitality of localities." on the morning of june 20, in hefei city, there will be the conference on the development of new energy vehicle, advanced photovoltaic, and new energy storage industry, as well as economic and trade inspection and docking activities. these events aim to enhance understanding, foster cooperation, and seek partnerships between local governments in anhui and rcep member countries, thereby cultivating new momentum for anhui's high-level opening-up and creating new platforms for international cooperation. 
additionally, with strong support from the chinese academy of international trade and economic cooperation of the ministry of commerce and china economic information service, the anhui provincial foreign affairs office has conducted joint research. during the forum, they will jointly release the "2024 rcep regional cooperation development report," providing a macro analysis and evaluation of the progress made in the two years since the implementation of rcep. the report will also offer a microanalysis and judgment based on a survey of chinese enterprises, putting forward constructive opinions for the comprehensive and high-quality implementation of rcep and enhancing regional cooperation momentum. the provincial foreign affairs office will also co-release the "'new trio' trade vitality index report for rcep" with china economic information service. furthermore, efforts will be made to facilitate the signing of economic, trade, cultural, and friendship city cooperation projects between anhui province and rcep member countries at the forum. it is worth mentioning that the forum will also organize exhibitions of intangible cultural heritage and other cultural and tourism products. it will host the "2024 rcep huangshan forum night" and organize various forms of exchange activities such as "northern anhui tour" and "southern anhui tour" for economic, trade, and cultural inspections and project docking. these activities aim to enhance the friendship and understanding among the guests from various countries attending the forum, and provide a platform for anhui province to recommend key enterprises to rcep partners and interact with domestic and international guests on-site. additionally, according to the needs of key enterprises, the forum will coordinate and organize "one-on-one" exchange activities between enterprises and relevant government departments, as well as business associations and enterprises.
