biopharmaceuticals are one of the core units of the life and health industry, an important sector related to the national economy, people's livelihood, and national security, and also one of the industrial clusters that anhui is currently accelerating to develop. on june 5, at the 2024 yangtze river delta entrepreneurs alliance summit, the "yangtze river delta biopharmaceutical industry integration index" was officially released. this index is the first in the country to evaluate the integrated development of the biopharmaceutical industry in the yangtze river delta through data. 
results show that over the past three years, the yangtze river delta biopharmaceutical industry integration index has shown a continuous growth trend. in 2023, the index reached 163.3, with the integration foundation steadily improving, integration elements strengthening robustly, and integration outcomes steadily enhancing in quality. as the most economically dynamic, open, and innovative biopharmaceutical development region in china, the yangtze river delta bears the mission of representing china in global competition. its integrated development not only relates to the economic restructuring, social management innovation, and ecological civilization construction within the region but also holds significant importance for promoting high-quality development nationwide and establishing a new development pattern. the yangtze river delta biopharmaceutical industry integration index aims to build a long-term mechanism for coordinated development and dynamic tracking of the biopharmaceutical industry in the region, guiding the high-quality and coordinated innovative development of the industry. the index shows that the yangtze river delta biopharmaceutical industry has formed a development pattern with shanghai as the leader, suzhou and hangzhou as the two wings, and multiple points of growth in nanjing, hefei, wuxi, and taizhou. the integration development of the biopharmaceutical industry in the yangtze river delta has achieved certain results.
