from may 14 to 21, a relevant provincial leader led a friendly economic and trade delegation to visit the united states and mexico, deepening practical cooperation between anhui province and the two countries in the fields of economy, trade, culture, and education, achieving positive results. in the united states, the delegation held meetings with maryland state, baltimore city, and the university of maryland, discussing the deepening of sister city relationships and enhancing cooperation in areas such as economy and trade, ports, education, and youth. they witnessed the signing of related cooperation agreements and invited relevant local authorities, departments, and enterprises to participate in the 2024 world manufacturing convention to be held in hefei. the delegation visited the headquarters of corning incorporated and held talks with company executives, reaching a consensus on expanding project investment, increasing r&d investment, and promoting deeper cooperation with anhui enterprises. they also met with friendly individuals in the u.s., visited anhui-native business associations and representatives of anhui merchants, and established a regular contact and coordination mechanism. in mexico, the delegation conducted site visits to alianza industrial park, chery mexico company, and bethel mexico factory to understand the development of anhui enterprises' overseas businesses. they also extended greetings to frontline employees, and conducted safety inspections of overseas projects. during the visit, the delegation also held working meetings with the chinese embassies in the united states and mexico, as well as the chinese consulate general in new york.
