on the afternoon of february 3rd, feidong cuojie street was filled with a festive atmosphere, bustling with crowds. the main venue event of the 2024 national fitness new year celebration (anhui·hefei) and the launch of the "i want to attend the national games" anhui community sports games took place here, bringing an extraordinary sports and cultural feast to residents and visitors. 
the theme of this event was "sports new year, healthy spring festival," organized by the mass sports department of the general administration of sport of china, the mass sports department of the all-china sports federation, the sport administration of anhui province, and the people's government of hefei city. it also marked the opening of the second cuozhen new year folk culture festival. at the event venue, drums and gongs resounded, and flags fluttered, creating a lively atmosphere. the finals of the hefei cuojie dragon dance lantern competition kicked off, featuring tall pole dragons, ribbon dragons, and dancing dragon lanterns competing against each other. national-level intangible cultural heritage performances such as lion dance, diabolo, "zhou ge" (a comprehensive traditional dance), iron flower striking, as well as provincial-level intangible cultural heritage performances including "chunqiu broadswords" (literally spring and autumn broadswords), land boat dance, fan dance, and big-headed dolls performing yangko, showcased a variety of traditional sports and intangible cultural heritage projects, delighting the visitors.
