recently, at the anhui provincial conference on housing and urban-rural development, it was announced that this year our province will further secure the bottom line of housing security by adding 70,000 units of affordable rental housing. according to reports, last year our province focused on stabilizing the real estate market, preventing and resolving real estate risks, and continuously improving housing conditions for the people. in the past year, a total of 183,800 units of housing were newly renovated in shantytowns, 813,500 households were provided with public rental housing, 123,300 units of affordable rental housing were developed, and 1,273 old residential communities were renovated. in 2024, the anhui provincial department of housing and urban-rural development will further stabilize and regulate the real estate market to meet the demand for both rigid and improved housing. the bottom line of housing security will be strengthened by adding 70,000 units of affordable rental housing, and rental subsidies will be provided to 20,000 households for public rental housing. moreover, 2,351 units of urban old and dilapidated housing will be renovated, and the renovation of 988 old residential communities in urban areas will be completed. efforts will be made to promote the participation of flexible employment personnel in the housing accumulation fund system. the construction of "good houses" will be promoted, and explorations will be made in the areas of housing inspection, housing pension funds, and housing insurance systems.
