the 6th china international import expo (ciie) opened in shanghai on november 5th. this is the first comprehensive offline exhibition since the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic. the number of exhibitors has fully recovered to pre-pandemic levels, surpassing previous expos with an increased presence of fortune global 500 companies and industry leaders. hefei city organized nearly 400 enterprises and institutions to participate, aiming to showcase hefei's high-level openness and vitality to the world through the ciie platform. in recent years, hefei city has seized the significant national strategic opportunities of the integration of the yangtze river delta region, leveraging the spillover effects of the ciie platform to expand the import of advanced technologies, equipment, and components necessary for industrial development. focusing on promoting consumption and meeting the demands of the people for a better life, the city has expanded the import of high-quality consumer goods from overseas. during the previous five ciies, hefei accounted for over half of the accumulated intended transaction value in the province. from january to september 2023, the city's import volume reached 87.93 billion yuan, accounting for 43% of the province's total. in this year's ciie, key purchasers such as boe, sungrow power supply, and efoodline have registered to participate. boe and sungrow power supply have been attending the ciie for six consecutive times, maintaining close cooperation with their equipment and raw material suppliers. they utilize the expo platform to procure various equipment and raw materials necessary for production, effectively ensuring the stability of their industrial supply chains. efoodline, in collaboration with the china chamber of commerce of i/e of foodstuffs, native produce and animal by-products (cfna), expands its overseas import of high-quality consumer goods by leveraging the expo for enhanced connections and partnerships.
