recently, the national greening committee office and the national forestry and grassland administration announced the results of the national ancient tree selection campaign, selecting 100 most beautiful ancient trees and 100 most beautiful groups of ancient trees across the country. among them, anhui province has 5 ancient trees selected as the "most beautiful ancient trees" and 3 ancient tree groups selected as the "most beautiful groups of ancient trees." the huangshan pine (guest-greeting pine) in the yupinglou area of huangshan scenic area in huangshan city and the huangshan pine (phoenix pine) in minyuan community, jiuhua town, jiuhua mountain scenic area in chizhou city were selected in the "most beautiful pine tree" series. a 1,020-year-old camphor tree in zhangtan village, shendu town, shexian county, huangshan city, was selected in the "most beautiful camphor tree" series. a 600-year-old ulmus szechuanica in dongqiao village, zhubei town, qingyang county, chizhou city, was selected in the "most beautiful elm tree" series. a 500-year-old chinese fir tree in yeshan forest farm, yi'an district, tongling city, was selected in the "most beautiful chinese fir" series. among the 100 selected "most beautiful groups of ancient trees," the tongyuan chinese cork oak grove in lu'an, the ming qing pomegranate orchard grove in huaibei, and the yexi pterocarya stenoptera (the chinese wingnut) grove in anqing were included. it is reported that the selected tree species for the "most beautiful ancient trees" include ginkgo, pine, cypress, cedar, chinese fir, camphor tree, phoebe zhennan, pagoda tree, banyan tree, and elm tree, totaling 100 trees.
