on september 16th, the trial operation of the xiaogang and caizi lake waterway of the yangtze river-huai river diversion project commenced, marking the full trial operation of the waterways for the first-stage project. the opening of the waterway reduces the transportation distance between chaohu lake and the upper and middle reaches of the yangtze river, significantly improving shipping efficiency. at 10:58 am on the same day, the cargo ship "changsheng 6288" loaded with 680 tons of steel slowly sailed north through the zongyang ship lock, entering the caizi lake waterway of the yangtze river-huai river diversion project. as the first cargo ship to pass through the zongyang ship lock during the trial operation, the anhui yangtze river-huai river diversion engineering co., ltd. awarded it a "first voyage certificate." the first-stage waterway construction of the yangtze river-huai river diversion project includes the caizi lake waterway and the yangtze and huai rivers connecting section. among them, the latter started trial operation on august 16th.
