in order to implement the cooperation agreement on the joint construction of the yangtze river delta integrated forest chief system reform demonstration zone by the forestry departments, recently, the forestry bureau of ma'anshan city and the greening and landscaping bureau of nanjing city jointly signed a cooperation framework agreement for the joint management and construction of shijiu lake. according to the agreement, the two regions will establish four mechanisms. firstly, they will establish a joint conference mechanism, holding joint conferences once a year to carry out cooperation and exchanges. secondly, they will establish an information sharing mechanism, promptly notifying each other of policies and measures related to the construction and management of shijiu lake. thirdly, they will establish a cooperation mechanism for publicity and coordination, jointly conducting protection, publicity, education, and popular science work, and setting up promotional display boards and boundary markers together. lastly, they will establish a mechanism for collaborative utilization, jointly carrying out eco-tourism and ecological education activities that meet wetland conservation requirements, and maintaining the stable ecological functions of the wetland. shijiu lake is located at the border between anhui and jiangsu, with a total area of about 320,000 mu (approximately 21,333 hectares). it has abundant natural resources and is one of the few freshwater lakes connected to rivers in china. it plays an important ecological role in water storage, flood control, irrigation, and protection of biodiversity. the two parties will strengthen the joint management and construction of shijiu lake, work together to protect and develop the lake, and jointly build a regional cooperation pattern of co-construction, co-sharing, and mutual benefit, aiming to create a model area for the integrated forest management system in the yangtze river delta.
