funan county in anhui province has become a model for comprehensive utilization of agricultural and livestock waste. the county produces about 3.5 million tons of waste annually, and to make full use of these wastes, it launched a project in 2017 to develop and utilize biogas and bio-methane from agricultural waste. the project has built 8 bio-methane production stations, forming a regional economic development model of ecological recycling for agricultural waste. the waste is crushed and fermented to produce biogas and biogas residue. the biogas is purified into bio-methane and delivered to households, while the biogas residue is processed into organic fertilizer and returned to the fields to improve soil quality.
