to inherit and promote the excellent traditional chinese culture, enhance cultural confidence, enhance the cultural influence of anhui celebrities, and contribute to the construction of a culturally strong province, the anhui celebrities museum recently collaborated with more than ten museums in the province to plan and launch the themed exhibition 'anhui people who once in the forbidden city.' through five sections titled 'the construction of the forbidden city,' 'the turbulence of the forbidden city,' 'the brilliance of the forbidden city,' 'the afterglow of the forbidden city,' and 'the rebirth of the forbidden city.' through over 170 exhibits and more than 200 charts and illustrations, the exhibition tells the story of the forbidden city's transformation from the imperial palace to the palace museum, highlighting the significant role and outstanding contributions of anhui people in politics, economy, science, culture, and more during the ming and qing dynasties. the forbidden city is an important window to understand chinese history and culture. for over six hundred years during the ming and qing dynasties, anhui people have left a profound mark here. by exploring the connection between anhui people and the forbidden city, we can better understand chinese history, become inheritors and disseminators of chinese culture in the new era, and also deepen our understanding of the historical and cultural heritage of anhui, enhance public recognition and sense of belonging to anhui culture, and continuously enhance the cultural influence of anhui. during the preparation of the exhibition, the anhui celebrities museum invited experts and scholars from institutions such as the anhui provincial research center for historical and cultural studies, the party history research institute of anhui provincial committee, and anhui university to review and improve the exhibition outline based on their opinions. the exhibition has been included in the 2023 top quality exhibition project library of the anhui provincial cultural relics bureau.
