according to customs statistics, the total import and export value of goods in anhui province reached 109.9 billion cny (approx. 16 billion usd) in the first two months of 2023, a decrease of 3% compared to the same period last year. among them, exports achieved a record high at 71.33 billion cny (approx. 10.4 billion usd), a year-on-year increase of 9.3%; at the same time, imports went down 19.8% to 38.57 billion cny (approx. 5.6 billion usd). trade with bri countries grew rapidly in january and february, anhui province's imports and exports to countries of the belt and road initiative (bri) reached ¥34.77 billion, an increase of 20.2%, higher than the overall growth rate by 23.2 percentage points, accounting for 31.6% of the total foreign trade value of goods; imports and exports with rcep trade partners totaled ¥27.34 billion, down 3%, accounting for 24.9%. the foreign trade values with the eu, asean, the us, chile, and south korea were ¥14.95 billion, ¥13.16 billion, ¥12.5 billion, ¥5.64 billion, and ¥5.37 billion, respectively, with each changing -2.6%, 6.7%, -19.9%, -9%, and 26.9% year on year, accounting for 13.6%, 12%, 11.4%, 5.1%, and 4.9% of the total value, respectively. imports & exports of soes grew by 20% in the first two months, the imports and exports of state-owned enterprises (soes) grew by 22.1% to ¥30.24 billion, accounting for 27.5% of the total value. imports and exports of the private sector were ¥53.96 billion, a decline of 7.8%, accounting for 49.1%. foreign-invested companies contributed 23.4% of the total value at ¥25.69 billion, down 14.4% compared with last year's data. automobile exports increased significantly during the two months, the export of mechanical and electrical products in anhui province rose 17.9% to ¥47.63 billion, accounting for 66.8% of the total export value. the export sales of automobiles increased 1.7 times year on year, reaching¥7.54 billion; solar cells created ¥4.53 billion of export value, up 39.6%; the export value of plastic products was ¥15.6 billion, an increase of 1.4%, while the export value of furniture and its parts was ¥11.2 billion, an increase of 16.7%.
